Victims of Domestic Violence

I fled home with my child because of domestic violence. Can my child move schools without a change of address?



See Article 4-4(1) of the Act on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims Yes, your child can move schools.  If a child under 18 is a domestic violence victim or receives protection and care from a family member who is a victim, the child may go to school outside his/her domicile.



See Subparagraph 4 of Article 2 and Article 9(1)1(a) of the Emergency Aid and Support Act Livelihood Aid  I’m having livelihood difficulties because of domestic violence. A domestic violence victim and family members experiencing difficulties with livelihood because of domestic violence are eligible for livelihood aid.



See Article 18(1), (2) and (3) of the Act on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims Medical Aid I’m injured from domestic violence and don’t have the money to receive care. Domestic violence victims are eligible for treatment at medical institutions and may be reimbursed by the state or local government for medical care and protection expenses.



See Article 7-3(1) and Article 8(1) of the Act on the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims Housing Aid I left home to flee domestic violence,but I have nowhere to go. A domestic violence victim and family members may temporarily stay at a shelter for victims of domestic violence where they are provided board and lodging, counseling, treatment and care, legal aid, etc.
