Q. Can I check for sex offenders living in my neighborhood?

A. Yes, you can check the personal information of sex offenders and a summary of their offenses by region at the Sex Offenders E-Alert website operated by the government.

Disclosure of Personal Information Under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, courts must declare an order disclosing the personal information of certain sexual offenders upon handing the judgment on the sexual offense case.

Execution of Disclosure Order When a court has ordered disclosure by judgment, the personal information and a summary of the sexual offenses of the sex offender can be found on the Sex Offender E-Alert (www.sexoffender.go.kr) website.
