Anyone who wants to use a music work must obtain permission from the copyright holder. ※ You can check the copyright holder information at Korea Copyright Commission’s FindCopyright website (www.findcopyright.or.kr). ※ Music work: It refers to a creation that expresses human thoughts or emotions and refers to all creations of all music genres, ranging from classical music to pop song, and K-pop.



Q. Do I need to get permission from the copyright holder to save music files downloaded from the internet on my phone and listen to them?



If you intend to use a music file personally or use it within a limited scope of family or equivalent without taking profit, you can copy it. If you copy and use it personally, you do not have to get permission from the copyright holder again. ※ Copying means temporarily or permanently fixing to a tangible x-x-object or re-producing it by printing, photographing, recording, copying, recording, filming, or other means.
