I take care of my two-year-old second child at home due to the current Covid 19 situation. However, I need to visit the homeroom teacher of my first child. Are there any drop-in child care centers in Seoul where I can entrust my second child for a while, or any other similar available services?

Thank your for your inquiry.

In Korea, a short-term childcare service is provided for a family raising a child from 6 months to 36 months or less (see p. 314 of the guidance on childcare programs published by Ministry of Health and Welfare), which is now available to a foreign family under the same conditions from this month, April 2022 (see the press release of Jan. 28, 2022 on revision of the guidance on childcare program by Ministry of Health and Welfare). Thus, If your second child is under 36 months, you may consider using the service.

A legal information on a short-term childcare can be found in the ‘Childcare’ content on our website (click here: https://www.easylaw.go.kr/CSM/SubCnpclsCmd.laf?csmSeq=1647&ccfNo=3&cciNo=2&cnpClsNo=1).

Please understand that we are an organization for providing legal information for citizens, and thus, for a use of the short-term childcare service please contact any of the childcare information providers below:
