Startup and operation of a beauty salon

Eligibility for the Acquisition of a Beautician’s License



How can I obtain a beautician’s license?



A person who falls under any of the following qualifications is eligible to obtain a beautician’s license.



① A person who has graduated from the department of beauty arts of a school recognized by the Minister of Education as equivalent to or higher than a junior college in the academic level



② A person who has obtained an academic degree in beauty arts as he/she has been recognized as a person with attainments equal to or higher than the college or junior college graduate pursuant to Article 8 of the Act on Recognition of Credits, Etc.



③ A person who has completed the prescribed course of beauty arts of a school recognized by the Minister of Education as equivalent to or higher than a high school in the academic level



④ A person who has completed the prescribed course of beauty arts for at least one year at a technical high school recognized by the Minister of Education



⑤ A person who has obtained qualifications (written/aptitude tests) as a beautician under the National Technical Qualifications Act



An incompetent person under adult guardianship, 
a mental patient under the Mental Health Act, 
and an communicable disease patient 
shall not be granted the beautician’s license.
